• Shooting Modèle Pérouges
____ PERSONAL PROJECT
Project overview •
During the Christmas period, some French villages like Pérouges are transformed to celebrate this time of year. It was the ideal opportunity for us to test the anamorphic lenses of the SIRUI brand. We chose to make this clip in the charming medieval city of Pérouges. The contrast between cobblestone streets and Christmas lights offers a video that is both soft and colorful.
The clip presents a young woman walking through the cobbled streets of the old town of Pérouges, admiring the different decorations and lights of Christmas. The anamorphic lenses give us, thanks to the aspect ratio, a very wide image which is ideal for highlighting both a subject and the environment in which it evolves !
Process •
The specific characteristics of anamorphic lenses are particularly noticeable when light passes through its lenses. The choice to film in the middle of the Christmas decorations was therefore ideal! Indeed, each small light captured by our camera gave us a very soft and oval bokeh or elongated flares well specific to anamorphic lenses. In order to pose our image and obtain a smooth rendering, we used a gyroscopic stabilizer. This allows us to make movements smoothly, greatly limiting the shaking and shaking in the image !
In order to make the most of anamorphic lenses, we used a Lumix GH6 which has a function capable of having the preview of our image «de-squeezed». This allows you to see live what our image will look like in post-production!
