Louis davion – Parkour

____ FREERUN

Project overview

Louis has been practicing the art of travel for many years now. He was not in his first clip when he contacted us but these previous experiences have always been filmed by himself. Limiting shots to fixed shots or shots at 1st person. So it was the first time he had the opportunity to make a video at 3rd person, thus offering more possibilities in the angles of views and camera movements.

This clip aimed to promote the athlete, highlight his skills in a short and rhythmic clip. We present in this video the athlete who evolves, at ground level, through the various obstacles that are presented to him (wall, barrier, etc...) on the port of Confluence in Lyon.

Process

When Louis contacted us, the first question we had to answer was about the location. It needed a place that included both relief but also an obstacle-free surface so as not to complicate the shooting of the camera operator. A place like the modern district of Confluence in Lyon was therefore ideal. It was then necessary to ask how to follow our subject in the image. Indeed, unless you practice the same sport and follow our subject by performing a similar course, it can be difficult to frame a subject with such fast movements in steep spaces.

Using a hybrid case mounted on a stabilizer like the Zhiyun Crane 3 allowed us to get a stable image while following a subject with fast movements.
