Project overview •
We were approached by a student for this unusual video project. This is an end-of-study project whose theme is “disruption”. Our client had chosen to go through the video and dance to illustrate her point. To sum up, it was about making an atypical sports clip. A great choice for la Caverne team!
This project was shot in a dance school in Lyon but we took the opportunity to film a scene in an iconic place of the city : the court of Voraces ! Thus, the clip releases, for a moment at least, traditional dance films that are entirely filmed in a dance hall with polished parquet flooring. The disruption is reflected by the intervention of a second dancer who creates her own movement in the image as well as the appearance of blue color in part of the clip.
Process •
When our client contacted us. We were able to present him similar projects on which we had worked as well as a moodboard in order to define together the universe to give the clip. Once these elements validated together, we were able to write a technical cut together by working on the rhythm of the music. This made the editing work much easier for us because we then only had to adjust the rushs on the right timing (by making some adjustments anyway).
We can’t repeat it enough: pre-production work is the most important stage on a film shoot!
